Story from my mission talking to a woman who says she was already “saved” 

“Don’t you think the Man that saved you, would want you to learn more about Him?”

Why do we study the scriptures?

Today we are going to talk about how we can make scripture study something that actually helps us to COME onto Christ, not just a motion that we go through. As we COME unto Christ daily, we BECOME like Christ. 

There are things we need to do regularly…exercise, temple attendance, eating, drinking water. Why? 

Exodus 16:4 manna “rain bread from heaven” 

Question –  How is our spiritual connection to God like manna? 

Our spirit needs the daily strength we can receive from reading the word of God, just like our bodies need the nourishment that we get from eating and drinking. Are we feeding our spirits? 

How to make time for scriptures

“Don’t yield to Satan’s lie that you don’t have time to study the scriptures.” Elder Richard G. Scott 

Question - What do you do to make time to connect with God?

Discuss different ways to study the scriptures and get insights from others. 

Conclusion - Bear testimony that it is through connecting to God daily through the scriptures that we can become like Him.
